May

Proposals first announced.

12th - 45 day period of "meaningful consultation" with unions starts.

13th - First meetings and staff briefings.

Students meet and campaign gets started.

29th - KCL UCU unanimously vote to ballot for industrial action.

30th - Petition started by students.

 

June

3rd - Sir Lechler's right to reply and UCU response published.

6th - Staff were due to be emailed about whether "at risk".

Petition passes 1000 signatures.

UCU ballot opened.

9th - Staff actually emailed to inform whether "at risk" - 140 staff are declared at risk. Stage 2 starts

11th Student response to Sir Lechler released.

Petition passes 2000 signatures.

16th - #whatyoumeantome event at IoP 
Petition passes 3000 signatures

23rd - IoP Post Doc Network statement

Petition passes 4000 signatures

10th-20th - Staff complete 2 page document, defending their position.

24th - Demonstration outside College Council

25th - UCU ballot for industrial action closes - overwhelming majority vote for strike action. See press release.

27th - Official Statement: 65 senior academics from five departments have written to Lord Douro and KCL council to express their concern about the restructuring and their loss of trust and confidence in senior management.

 

 

July

1st - UCU held emergency general meeting

3rd - UCU announced specifics of action, including strikes on 10th July,  working to contract starting 11th July and other possible actions.

4th - Staff notified that under 60 jobs are now at risk. (First announced on THE comments, the day before)

9th July - Princess Anne visit to open the new Neuroscience building on 10th cancelled last minute.

10th July - UCU strike and student demonstration.

Petition passes 5000 signatures.

August

Week commencing 11th - Formal notice letters and review meetings due.
